While Kevin Durant is partying it up in Europe and Kyrie Irving is…Twitch streaming, two Nets underwent surgery, Ben Simmons had a microdiscectomy for his back and Seth Curry had arthroscopic surgery for his left ankle. Both surgeries were successful. They join Joe Harris, who underwent left ankle ligament reconstruction surgery on March 22. All are expected to be back in time for training camp in September.

First off, I feel like we, myself included, should apologize to Ben Simmons for everything that has been said about him in the past few months regarding his playing status.
My main comments were that I expected him to play during some time of the season and was skeptical of the reasoning behind him not playing. Simmons was actually suffering from a real injury and one that needed surgery.
Honestly, the reason why I said these things is that everyone said Simmons play at some point in the season and that he was progressing really well so, of course, I was getting excited. But that excitement was all for not as he never played a single second of the 2021-2022 season. I lost hope after he was ruled out for the regular season and wasn’t convinced that he was going to play in the first round of the playoffs.
With that said…Ben, I’m sorry.
Now, with Seth Curry’s injury.
Back in March, he said that he’s not planning on getting ankle surgery during the off-season, despite feeling pain while playing. This I might add was before playoffs, where he continued to play more and more minutes.
In those four games, he averaged 14.5 points and shot 56% from the field. He also had playoff career-highs in MPG (33) and 3-pt % (52%).
Considering how much he played, this wasn’t much of a surprise because he was dealing with a significant amount of pain while playing. So it’s understandable why he got surgery and I hope he comes back better than ever.
Right now, all I want is a healthy Nets team come training camp and an off-season that isn’t filled with drama.
